An exhibition was to be held by the students of RUS 104 as the requirement for our 7th project. The purpose of the exhibition was to showcase the product of the students throughout the semester. This project was to be carried out according to the students' respective courses. The theme for the exhibition was 'Floating Lines'. Therefore, all decorations must be based on the given theme.

Integrated Project!

The 6th project required us to work in teams of 16 from different courses. I was assigned to Group 10. The group consists of 3 students from Architecture, 3 students from Urban Planning, 3 students from Building Technology, 3 students from Construction Management, 2 students from Quantity Surveying and lastly 1 student from Interior Design and Building Surveying respectively.

We were asked to design an amphitheater stage for the usage of students in HBP. We were not only asked to design the stage, but were also required to build a model of the actual stage using a scale of 1:10, to come up with the costings related with the model and to state the suitable materials to be used for the actual stage and also the model of the stage.

We've decided that our concept should be something that can be related with the proposed site. As the site is overlooking the sea, we had agreed upon using the wave element as our concept for the stage design. Thus, the chosen name for our stage is Morwenna which actually meant the ocean waves in Welsh.

Site Analysis!

For project 5 all of us are needed to conduct a site analysis and come up with a presentation drawing of what facilities and several more elements that the selected site offers. We also had to suggest a few amendments or addition we deemed as fit to the site we chose. We were given several choices of newly developed sites to choose from. Me and my friends had chosen to do a site analysis on Siara 81. Our chosen site is located at Sungai Ara. The duration of this is for two weeks. The first week we went to the chosen site to conduct an analysis on the site.

Perspective Drawings. . . . .

Based on our 'L' shaped chair and table, we were required to draw two presentation drawings. One of them is an elevation drawing and the other is a perspective and axonometric drawings.

My first ever CHAIR + TABLE design!

The next project was a small competition for us first year students to design and built a model of an 'L' shaped chair with an attached table between the chairs. We were divided into groups of 3 based on our courses. My group's chair and table design was selected to be presented in front of everyone in the studio.

Our finished product!

Free-form sculpture

Without us noticing, three weeks had gone pass and the third project were given to us. For the third project we were instructed to come up with one free-form sculpture made from any kind of materials. but, extra marks will be awarded to those who used recycled materials for their sculpture.

I had a hard time coming up with a design for my free-form sculpture as I was never good with coming up with a brilliant design before. But after having a concept for my sculpture, the problem of limited time for executing the thought-out design crept up on me. with the looming dateline plus a camp we first year students are required to attend added an extra pressure for me. But after all that's happen, I managed to finish my free-form sculpture in time for submission. However, if more time was given, I believed that I could do better.

Project 2

For the third week we were given the task to sketch one drawing of a man-made structure and one drawing of a natural structure respectively.

I had chosen to draw my natural structure based on a protruding root structure located near my hostel.

As for the man-made structure I had chosen to sketch the waqaf located outside of DK E48 B.

Through this project, I had learnt many things regarding the shapes and structures of both man-made and natural structures.Unfortunately, I had forgotten to take a picture of the finished sketches before submitting it.
